RUIN is a performance about decay and elitism, the perpetual threat of and participation in violence, splintered virtual realities filled with monsters, the heart of America, and the fantasy of resolution to endless conflict.
RUIN is a dance, a becoming, a death, a respawning and a way out of the past into the future.

Fertile Land, Fertile Body
By Jen Shyu,
Composer, vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and dancer
February 28, 2026
Saturday
8PM
Acclaimed composer Jen Shyu will share an excerpt from her developing work, Fertile Land, Fertile Body, a multilingual ritual opera comprising ancient and original music, dance, and projection, investigating how human-caused environmental toxicity affects our fertility while sharing stories of struggle and hope from women overcoming or who overcame infertility.
This ensemble, including Shyu plus vocalist-instrumentalists who double as choir, will use sound and choreographed movements to express how overcoming barrenness in both land and bodies are intertwined..

Open Arts Studio Gala
We have been open since 2021 thanks to you. During the last four years, Open Arts Studio launched a new creative space for dances, theater and music, low and no-cost youth programs and classes, and supported the development of countless new works. We have enacted ‘access for all’ through our programs, and have seen meaningful impact on young artists, dancers, and musicians, and their futures.
