Support the Dance Italia + Open Arts Studio Young Artists Program

Dance Italia + Open Arts Studio Young Artists program is a 15-day dance training intensive in the historic city of Lucca, Italy. Our goal is to provide each dancer the opportunity to grow and develop in a supportive and creative environment, providing them with a platform to discover a diverse range of contemporary techniques, while immersing themselves in the local culture.

We offer needs-based scholarships to help make this amazing opportunity available to students who wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford it. Your support makes this possible.

What we have been up to.

Open Arts Studio opened its doors in April 2021. With your generous support over the last year we have expanded this vision, made operational improvements, hosted workshops, subsidized countless hours of rehearsal space, produced full length productions and developed an exciting new Young Artist Program that traveled to Italy in partnership with Dance Italia.

Your support keeps us… Open for All.

1here is so much to look forward to in our second year and we need your help to do it. With the help of special donors we supported many events as well as general operating costs. Your donations support the programming at Open Arts Studio. When you give to Open Arts Studio you support the open exchange of ideas, accessible arts programming for all ages and abilities, education, choreographers, composers, experimentation, and an open community.

This year we launched the Young Artists Program — a 10-day dance training intensive in the historic city of Lucca, Italy. Created in partnership with Dance Italia this new program offers dancers between the ages of 13-17 years old  the opportunity to grow and develop in a supportive, creative, and noncompetitive environment, providing them with a platform to discover a diverse range of contemporary techniques, while immersing themselves in an international culture.

The Young Artists Program will expand to a two week program for more students. While it is critical to maintain individualized training and safe opportunities for creative expression we will expand to include up to 15 students.

In the studio we will develop programming for artistic exchange. We will develop opportunities for artists to show work informally and create conversations. With the pandemic seemingly calming down we hope to open programming for older adults.
